In this museum, thinking is not a passive act. It is a full-body engagement. To arrive at a Personal Standard requires the same tension Rodin captured: the clenched fist of conviction and the gripping toes of being grounded in one's influences. My work — whether it's the logic of an operating principle or the aesthetic of a fashion archive — is an athletic feat of the mind. The statue stands here, in the social layer, to remind every visitor that the ease of the restaurant and the beauty of the gallery are powered by the heavy, muscular labor of the vault below.
The Thinker bridges the Foundational Layer in the basement and the Intellectual Layer on the third floor.
